Why do you need a 3d TV to play a 3d game?

I thought the 3d TV's converted everything to 3d? That's what they claim. So is the game not just converting itself to 3d? Or is it converting itself so the TV doesn't have to? I'm very confused on it. I thought if the game converts itself, then all you would need are the glasses. The TV is just if you wanted everything in 3d.

I can't believe someone actually asked this question...

. 3-D tv's can switch from normal to 3-d. It doesn't necessarily convert. Also 3-d tv's use a special tpye of glasses.

    Hi,

To play 3D games, your television does have to be 3D as well. In short, it has to:

    - Have a 120 Hz refresh rate

    - Have HDMI 1.4

    - Have 3D capability built-in or be "3D Ready," which means you can get an after-market kit that connects to your 3D Ready TV. Either way, you'll need the glasses and the transmitter (either built into the 3D TV or an after market one) to watch 3D content in 3D.

Hope this helps. If you have more questions on 3D TV, please check here:

It has to say on the package 3-D compatible or 3-D. Not all games have the capability of changing to 3-D, they were made 2 dimensional or do not have the correct components ;therefore, can not convert.
