Im pretty sure the main reason I got fired was for being pregnant. Do I have a case? please read details.?

I worked at a clothing store on melrose in which I did everything from sales to opening and closing the store. I never had any problems and everything seemed fine. On my 9th month of working there I found out I was pregnant. One day before I had told my boss I was pregnant I had some complications in which I was bleeding and really dizzy, so I called my coworker to come cover for me and as I was waiting for her to come I called my boyfriend to go pick me up and looked up the directions to the hospital. While I was doing this a man went into the store to stole stuff but I was not aware of it until my boss told me the next. This day I told my boss why I was distracted because he wanted to fire me. He did not fire me but since that day he kept telling me that business was not well and that he might be closing the store. A few months later there was another shoplift incident in which I was aware of and I did confront the person and called the police (I have the report). Next day the owner had a meeting with me in which he told me that I should of snatch the clothes away from the shoplifter or ran after her to stop her I was three months pregnant when this happened he also told me that it did not seem like I could handle the job because I couldn't get physical with a shoplifter. He really wanted to fire me but he knew it would have been unfair so he didn't. One month passed and in the beginning of December 2010 he told me that he had to let me go in 2 weeks because the store was not doing well and he was going to close it. I got laid off at 1 year of working there. In Late January I filled for unemployment because no one was hiring me. When the owner from the clothing store was contacted by the unemployment department he called me and offered me a job at the offices from the factory in which the clothes from the store we sold was made and I said sure so I closed my unemployment case. I have not been able to reach him since and today I passed by the store which is still open ( I was told it was going to close and that he couldn't afford to pay me anymore) and it had a big help wanted sign.

Update:

The store only had me and another girl working there, but the whole company had more workers. Up until a week before I was told I was being laid off we had a help wanted sign because he wanted to hire a 3rd worker. Reason for me being laid off was because he needed to cut hours to be able to pay rent. When I spoke to him he did not mention my old position was available he instead offered me a job at the offices where I wouldn't be seen by his clients. He is now avoiding me and not answering my calls.

Update 2:

I never had problems he really liked me until I got pregnant since its a mens store and he would want us to talk and help the male costumers. I would sale the most stuff compared to my coworker and I worked less hours. I am not lazy as I would take any job not to mention I am a full time student 3.5 gpa student at Cal-state LA. I closed my unemployment case as soon as I found out I could get rehired since I like to earn my money. I have applied and at least 20 places and had 5 interviews never got called back.

take a picture of the store with the help wanted sign.

You should never get physical with a shoplifter. They could be on drugs and hurt you.

He tricked you into thinking he hired you back?

Go back to the unemployment office asap and finish filing. Don't fall for his crap.

some people think that because they are pregnant they are immune to getting fired simpling because they are pregnant.. that is not true..

if what ever you have an issue with, disabled or pregnant, if you can not do your job, they the store is allowed to legally fire you..

you may be able to refile for unemployement,, i would try for that.. but other then that, i don't see you having any case..

He wouldn't be trying to get rid of you if you were a hard worker.

    You know that don't you?

He doesn't want you as an employee. You don't respect him or want to work for him.

    Move on.

    Find a new job.

(pregnant, not married, hoping to get unemployment rather than find a new job, the world owes you a living, What is that sound I hear? America's future going down the toilet)

no, your boss didnt like you, so he fired you, he just didnt have a good enough reason so he said he was laying you off. you cant sue him, but you can re-apply for unemployment
