DAB radio is a digital radio technology for broadcasting radio stations, used in several countries, particularly in Europe.

Digital Audio Broadcast will eventually replace the existing analogue radio service. Digital Radio brings more choice, improved sound quality, no re-tuning and extra information on broadcasts such as track names and sports results.

If you go to the Digital One website it will explain in greater detail and you can enter your postcode which search for all the radio station available in your area.

I live in the scottish highlands where not transmitters have been converted as yet, so the DAB signals are not that strong as our nearest transmitter is situated way past Inverness, but hopefully you are in an area of the UK, with more transmitters giving you stronger reception.

Hope this helps, regards from David

P.S. DAB does give you more choice of radio stations.

DAB standing for Digital Audio Broadcasting. The available radio stations are divided into national and regional stations. With the regional stations you will have to be in the area to receive them but the national stations can be heard wherever you are.

It is a Digital radio and yes - it will work in the country - it relies on digital signals and not the analogue signal - clearer sound and more definition
