Where should i live when i get to England?
I recently found out that i am going to be PCSing to RAF Lakenheath, i am hoping to find an area with in a reasonable distance to the base that wont have many Americans living it (figure if im gonna be there might as well live in England not little America). I do still wanna be in an area that is gonna have some restaurants and pubs to though. thanks.

Don't move to Brandon - it's the nearest town and an absolute dive. Try Thetford or Swaffham - both way nicer. Thetford has a lovely historic city centre. Swaffham is a good size with shops and pubs.

Is it normal to live off base? If so, would search out the largest, most easily commutable town nearby! Do you get reduced priced petrol/gas? Remember here it is about $10 per gallon in Britain, so driving is an expensive game!
