Does he actually hate me?

What is going on right now?

I'm so confused. Okay theres this guy that i used to live with, and we were best friends for 8 or 9 months before i moved in with him. We never had sex, but we did stuff. And we acted like a couple most of the time, he would buy me things, and i would buy him things, and we lived in the same room and everything for 3 months. Well, 3 weeks ago i left, because we got in a fight. And it was a stupid fight, and he said he hated me after that and like hasn't talked to me except to say mean things. But he texts me randomly just to say rude things, the times that we've talked since i left, I wasn't the one to strike the conversation, he was. And my friends are his friends, so they hang out with him, and then they come hang out with me, but when my friends are just talking randomly he'll throw in some snarky comment about me. That has nothing to do with the conversation at all. But when he's asked by anyone why he hates me, he doesn't have an answer. He just says that he does. I'm not sure how someone can go from living together and then going to hating me that bad.

I know he still thinks about me, or he wouldn't do the things that he does.

Do you think I broke his heart? And thats why he's upset? Or do you think that maybe he was just using me, and didn't really ever care about me. Easy 10 points guys.
