Tried to open a docx file but came out to be a zip file?
My friend had sent me a docx file to print off in an email but when I clicked on it, I had to save it to my computer (I have done this before and it worked fine). Now when I tried to open the saved document it turns out to be a zip folder.and all the documents are html code for the document and I can only open the folder with windows explorer This has happened to my friend before but I have never had this issue before.
I have Windows 7 and I cannot open a tools option. I can only open the properties of the folder and none have a view tab

Docx is actually a zip format check what extension is it being saved under. To view extensions In windows explorer: Click on Tools - Folder options - View Tab and Unselect "Hide extensions for known file types"
Click Ok
This will now show the files with extension. If the file extension is zip just change it to docx
If it is docx try right clicking on the file and selecting Open with and select Microsoft Word, you may have changed the file association by mistake.
