System restore failed?
I have an Acer aspire one, I just recently got a virus(probably a few) and windows doesn't start. It just goes to the windows xp screen and restarts continuously. So I finally decided to do a system restore. At about 47% an error message pops up saying restore failed, reason: 0x00000007 or something like that. Now it says NTDLR is missing. Press ctrl, alt, del to restart.
What can I do? Would I have to buy another laptop, or take it to a computer shop and get it repaired?
Some Guy, would it be possible to have a different OS(like Linux)installed on my laptop? Or does it have to be Windows?

Linux can be used on any hardware platform. Use it.
If you insist on restoring your Windows OS, there are plenty of pirated versions available that you can use and activate legitimately with your product key. I can even provide you with XP Pro if you want. Alternatively if you have a registry backup you can try booting into Knoppix and importing your backup there and see if you get any luck.

As people said the previous time you asked this question: reinstall the operating system using the restore di-... oh, wait, you have an Acer. No restore disks. (I have an Acer, myself... )
Take it to a shop and have Windows reinstalled there. You should have a valid license code, so you'd be paying only for the time spent.
When you get your system back, take the time to *make* a restore disk. Takes one or two empty DVDs and about half an hour of your time.

NTDLR is missing = No operating system available.
If you have another Windows XP CD, try using it. Maybe the disc you're trying to use has scratches or is unusable.
You won't have to get another laptop. It's more than likely just a faulty disc.
