is there any why to tell when the ps3 60gb is gonna die?

like dose it just die or will you notice it overheating and getting louder so is there any why to tell or dose it just die at some point

    Nope it's just gonna die someday , but the fan getting louder is normal when playing games , overheating try putting it in an open space also clean the air ports with something like an old toothbrush , u will be suprise how much dust is in those things , also turn it off with the switch . Turn it back on and hold the disc button nd it will run the fan really loud nd clean out dust that's in it.

    It depends. Normally, it will just die, no warning whatsoever (make sure you are doing backups of your PS3).

    Sometimes, however, it will give you clues that it is getting ready to go out. Some games will start to do funny things with the graphics, such as random spikes coming off of a head or in the background, and sometimes your XMB will start acting weird (it may distort in some way).

    Don't expect it to give you a warning, because normally it won't, but if it starts to do funny things with graphics or how it shows up on the screen, then expect it is failing (excessive heat to the graphics chip and the thermal paste breakdown causes the erratic graphics behavior).

    buy a ps3 slim new is allways better
