    Sodium carbonate (washing soda) is water-soluble as is barium chloride. However, when these salts are mixed in water, barium carbonate precipitates out because it is only slightly water-soluble (0.0024g/100ml).

    Na2CO3(aq) + BaCl2(aq) => 2NaCl(aq) + BaCO3(s)↓
