The amount of times this question has been asked.

Drivers can only sign up to get points in 1 of the 3 Series this year. Trevor chose the Nationwide Series hence the reason why he gets points there & not in the Sprint Cup Series.

Another aspect of the changes of the point system, is that drivers had to choose one of the three national touring series (Sprint Cup, Nationwide, Camping World Truck) in which they wish to compete for the championship. The one they choose is the only one they will earn drivers points for. Trevor Bayne is running full time in the Nationwide Series, and only part time in the Sprint Cup Series, therefore he choose to earn points towards the Nationwide championship. Therefore he is not able to earn any points for running Sprint Cup events, including the Daytona 500.

Because he decided to go for the nationwide series cup instead of Sprint Cup, so he can't win the Sprint Cup.

He isn't running for the championship in Cup. Each driver is eligible to gain point in one series only. He likely isn't running a full Cup schedule.
