I need advice from someone familiar with laws in NH?

Have a friend who missed court and got arrested because they put a warrant out for his arrest. He was sent to July with a $5000 cash bail. He is there until his next court date in July unless bail is posted. We cant afford the bail. Is there any way to get a new hearing and ask for a monitor or house arrest? He was not going to court for any violent crime or sexual type offence. He is Bipolar with depression issues and enxiety and jail is making it worse. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Have you contacted a bail bondsman? Most bail bondsmen charge you 10% to post the bond so if the bail is $5,000 you would have to pay $500.

if you don't have money for bail then you have to borrow it from a bailbonds person or you stay in jail. He must have done something to get a court date that he failed to appear at and then was issued a warrant. If he is bi-polar then he should be on medication and he woudln't do stupid stuff that gets him arrested, if he is in jail now they will provide him his medication if he will take it so he needn't suffer from his mental illness while he is in jail. He should also have been assigned an attorney and if he asks he can talk to the attorney and get answers to his questions.

bail bonds... then go to court prove him innocent and if he is innocent then the court will repay you for bail and any fees they were going to charge you are eliminated... if he's guilty then your screwed. you can always try and refight it though...
