You give the ferryman 2 coins & he takes you across the River Styx, into Hades.

I'm an atheist, and I pretty much find no reason to worry about what happens after I die.

    Why?

    I'll find out when I die :)

Otherwise, I'm going to live the truest life I possibly can here on earth.

Religious believers say your spirit arrives at a destination depending on your deeds in life, where you spend eternity in paradise or suffering.

Atheists say you cease to exist, and it will be as before you were born (nothing).

I am a believer, atheists claim the church is a controlling propaganda machine but that's unfounded, as you can live your life entirely without ever coming into contact with any religion, save for in court or on your dollar bill.

I'm able to think spiritually, so I think there is life after death..

When you die you cease to exist. When a person dies, they return to the dust according to the Bible at Genesis 3:19. And Ecclesiastes 9:5, tells us that the dead are concious of nothing at all. Death, therefore, is a state of nonexistence. The psalmist wrote that when a person dies, “he goes back to his ground; in that day his thoughts do perish.” (Psalm 146:4) The dead are unconscious, inactive.

    Depends on how you die.

If it is from natural causes rather than your brain being blown out, your brain will release several hallucinogenic chemicals including DMT, and your last few minutes of life will last what feels like an eternity. In this eternity you can feel like you are in heaven, hell , or anything in between due to the nature of these chemicals, but you will feel like you have figured out the mysteries of the universe.

And then after that, it's kind of like what you felt like before you were born.

Some people think we are living chemical reactions. and our brain is responsible for everything .. but this is not true.. we have a spiritual existence in parallel.. when we die . the machine that we call our body stops working.. and we are shifted to the spirit.. the spirit is in higher dimension.. and this dimension doesn't have time.. so everything is absolute. our absolute fate depends on how we live our Earthly life.. either we end up closer to our source.( God ) in heaven .. or far away from God in hell

You cease to exist at that moment. The illusion of your identity, produced by the organization and cooperation of the colony of cloned cells that make up your body, breaks down and all that remains of you is some stuff that used to be the illusion generator, previously referred to as you.

Any individual identity is a transient illusion.

Grrr this has been asked over 9000 times.

THERE IS NO WAY OF POSSIBLY KNOWING THAT FOR SURE. NO ONE HAS EVER DIED AND CAME BACK TO LIFE.

The only answers you will get will be biased. Christians saying "heaven/hell" atheists saying "nothing" etc. etc.

Just enjoy the current life you're living because it is the only life you're certain of.

That is the big question in everyones mind. All cultures become philosiphers trying to answer this but "faith" seems to be the only answer from all of them. My question to you is what will you do while you live?
