High E string doesn't ring on high notes?
I recently changed my strings, I replaced them by removing all the strings which were earny ball super slinkies and i replaced those with D'addario regular light gauge strings. Before the Earny ball super slinky I had ernie ball regular slinky. With the D'arrdio's the high E and B strings would not play at all on the higher frets where as all the other strings do. This is a new problem only occurring with the Ernie ball super Slinky and an the D'addario's. I believe with the changing gauges the neck may have been damaged as in the action or being warped. By the way this is a Les Paul style guitar. What do you think caused this?

Press and hold the 12th fret and the 22nd fret of the high E string and see what the distance is between the string and fret at the 17th fret. If the string is touching the fret, you'll need to adjust the bridge using a flat head strew driver; turn it counter-clockwise accordingly. Trial an error til you get it right.

Hmm, out of your description of the sound, i might guess a poorly formed nut slot, yet this shouldn't only look at once. the subsequent maximum probably option may well be the two that the slot has worn too deep interior the nut, or the treble end of your first be concerned has raised fairly. A loose area on the peghead, like a tuner bushing, can mimic an open-string buzz, however that's often a noisy, raucous buzz if so. in specific circumstances human beings stick a layer or 2 of aluminum foil interior the nut slot as a short lived fix for a too-deep slot. For a greater everlasting fix, you're in all threat observing a clean nut or shimming the present one. If the 1st be concerned end has popped up, a repairman can glue it down immediately and fee effectively. A loose tuner area could nicely be pointed out by technique of the undeniable fact that the noise stops once you touch it.
