Which is usually the better deal when getting a cell phone: The store, online or by phone?

I am upgrading my phones. After telling my at&t rep about online deals he only wanted to match the deals after he quoted me 50.00 dollars more on a phone I wanted. I was wondering if store pricing is different and what I should look for. When I first added my wife to my account I remember the store matched the internet price too but I was able to take the phone that day so that was cool.

online do take a little longer to ship it to you

but if you find a good price online, copy it and bring it to the store

same company, they would have to match it

and you get the phone today

Tyically, if there's going to be a deal, it will be online since it's the cheapest way for the carrier to handle a transaction. In point of fact, you can usually get the best price from one of the authorized retailers. Pick any AT&T phone (except an iPhone) and I'll bet my puppies that the price will be lower at walmart.com.
