Pregnant pygmy goat has squishy belly?
My grandparents have two female pygmy goats, both of them were pregnant. One had her baby several weeks ago, while the other still hasnt had hers. Her belly is twice the size as the other one's was. I'm worried because her belly was very firm but now its really squishy. Is there something wrong?

If the goats got pregnant around the same time, get the still pregnant goat to a vet ASAP. The kid could start to deteriorate inside her and could cause death. Even if the vet says nothing is wrong, it's better to be safe then sorry. My Netherland Dwarf rabbit was pregnant. I did not know she was pregnant, then she started giving birth. The babies were too big for her, so they were all stillborn. They were inside her too long, so they started to decompose inside her. My mom was helping her give birth and their body parts were falling apart, because they were in her too long. I'm sure the same thing can happen to any animal, so seek a vet for the goat. Mothers can die from that sort of thing.

I'm a plus-sized curvy girl and I have 2 kids. At 8 weeks, no your belly won't get harder because the baby is practically microscopic. You shouldn't be gaining weight yet at all. Although I could tell I was pregnant at around 12 weeks, it still took the "world" to be able to tell I was pregnant and not fat until I was about 20 weeks. I have a big personal problem with using the description of "hard' to describe a pregnant belly because it just doesn't make sense to me. But yes, as my uterus and baby grew, my abdomen did become more firm but the belly fat way down low remained and was always squishy so the top of my uterus was appropriately hard but I still had my squishy belly way down low. It was very obvious that I was pregnant though. Since you didn't mention your weight, your height, or how you carry your weight, it may vary greatly for you when you will show. Also, the first half of both pregnancies, I actually lost weight from my butt and thighs and only at the end of my pregnancy did I gain weight which was baby weight. I was closely monitored by my doctor who was happy that I lost weight. I didn't diet at all or anything and ate a lot. I just made better choices like eating a banana instead of a bag of chips. Getting a salad to go with my hamburger instead of french fries. Cutting out soda and drinking water helped a lot. Good luck with your pregnancy. Don't worry, the time will come soon enough that you'll look and feel pregnant. Also, I did feel my most beautiful while pregnant because I felt strangers focused on me being a pregnant mom-to-be and not an overweight woman.
