I dropped my camera and.....? (read details)?

I just dropped my camera. You know the little place where you put the batteries in? And the little lid that covers it? Yea, that lid thing isn't holding the batteries in. Whenever I try to close it, it just pops back open.

I see the place it broke, The thing thats supposed to hold the lid down chipped a little. So now it just won't hold the batteries in :(

but I don't know what to do about it. I just got this camera recently too! And I have to go to a concert in april and I'll need to record some stuff!

Are there any tricks to fixing my little problem other than putting tape over it??

10 points to whatever works!!!

If you have a local camera shop, they could order a new door and replace it for you. Depending on the cameras make/model, it would probably be around $20 to do the repair.

You need to take out the batteries and SD card and just let it sit for a little bit. After a while put some fresh batteries back in.(if its a rechargeable battery put it on charger). Once you get the battery(ies) back in make sure it is set on "auto" mode and the turn the camera on like you normally would. It sounds like you have a small internal error. If this doesn't work you could possibly be getting in trouble with your dad. I really hope this helps. Good luck

Send the camera back to the manufacturer, not the place where you bought it. Had you included the make & model we could have supplied you with their 800 phone number.

Neck straps can be fashionable and save valuable cameras at the same time, for your info.

Tape looks like your only option at this point, To get it fixed will cost as much or close to a new camera.
