The term "Baby Boomer" refers to a person belonging to a particular American generation.
Following the return of soldiers to America from serving in WWII, America saw a significant rise in the national birthrate. This continued for several years, until the next generation was identified.
Here are some figures from the Boomer generation and the generations preceding and following.
The Builders (aka Traditionalists & The Great Generation)
* 68 Million
* 2 phases (birth years): 1901 - 1924 and 1925 - 1942
* Cuspers (those bridging two generations): 1940 - 1945
Baby Boomers
* 77 Million
* 2 phases: 1943 - 1951 and 1952 - 1960
* Cuspers: 1960 - 1965
Generation X (aka Baby Busters & The Lost Generation)
* 44.6 Million
