My favorite war book although different from the two you listed, is The Farther Shore by Matthew Eck. It's based on things he saw while fighting in Somalia. Great read! You can read the review on amazon.com

You misunderstand plagiarism. Plagiarism is intentionally taking somebody else's artwork and passing it off as your own. If I scouse borrow the great plot for Crime and Punishment, placing it in a similar united states of america and term, that is plagiarism. i've got taken somebody else's tale and exceeded it off as my own. If, in spite of if, I have been to place in writing a narrative a pair of guy who killed a girl no person enjoyed and regretted it, yet there the similarities ended, that's not plagiarism. Fiction is predominantly kind. there's no such element as an unique thought. ask your self, no? that's the way that an thought is geared up which makes a e book. while it comes all the way down to it, there are in basic terms some common thoughts from which all different thoughts are based.

I'd highly recommend the new Vietnam War novel Matterhorn. It's excellent and you totally feel like you are with the soldiers in the muddy, rainy, jungle trying to hold on to a piece of land, injured, running out of food and water, waiting for reinforcements to come.
And I'm a girl!

Have you read any of Mary Renault's books? She wrote an awesome trilogy about Alexander the Great, and several other books set in ancient Greece.
