Facebook and friendster are social networks because you can friend people and put pictures and other things. TV streaming and youtube are just where you watch things. Google and Yahoo are email services and search engines and they wouldn't really be considered a social network

Google and Yahoo are "internet portals". That means they contain just about every feature possible on the Internet. Their two main functions are e-mail and search engines.
