Taxact.com prepaid endeavor mastercard?
FRUSTRATION...I did my taxes through taxact.com and chose to ahve a prepaid endeavor mastercard sent to me. I looked on the where's my refund website and was informed that my money had been direct deposited into this card on February 11th. (I did my taxes and they were approved on January 31.) Still haven't received my card, so I tried contacting the bancorp bank to get more information, they emailed me back and told me to call a number that will give me customer service, this number being (866)696-5221. I CALL, don't know the card number so I ignore the robotic request for it and a man comes on the phone asking for the card number, I explain to him my situation and he begins to sound confused, saying out loud that he wonders why THIS particular number was given to me, as if the bank has nothing to do with him and his company. Couldn't understand him well, never can when it comes to customer service representatives. He asked for my first and last name and then out of nowhere says he can't find an account that belongs to me and asks me to spell the banks name for him and other weird things. I have my tax information printed out as well as the mastercards instructions on how to activate the card, overdraft fees, etcetera. I can't find a number to call to get in touch with someone LEGIT. I've read that a loooooooot of people have gone through similar problems with this card, and I'm frustrated. TO THE BONE. Someone help me.

The first thing I would do is to file a formal complaint with the IRS regarding TaxAct's business practices. I would then file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. Follow this with a phone call to TaxAct because they are offering this tied in service with regard to your tax refund. If they are an accomplice to the problem where you are not able to access your money, they should help you resolve the issue as well.
I have had my own tax preparation practice for 14 years and do NOT recommend using services such as what you had. Unfortunately, your problem is not unique and it leaves you in a position not knowing who to call or contact regarding your money.
Another option you may want to explore is to report your card as stolen and have another one issued. Explain that you never received it. It is likely going to cost a couple of bucks for them to issue you another one. The problem here, as you already explained, is that you do not know what your card number is. You may also want to ask the card issuer if the money is not spent or accessed within a specific time frame, if it gets sent back to the IRS.
I am sure there may be another option or two, but these are ones that I would try right away and what comes to mind right now.
Good luck!

However, I will personally help you as well. Please email me at pr@taxact.com with your full name, email address and contact information. I'll make sure we track down your card.
