Makeup/Skin Care Questions?

Their are some questions that involve specific products, so if you've never tried them, or never heard of them, you don't have to answer them.

1. What is a good liquid foundation? (I have normal skin, if that matters. And I really don't need lots of coverage. I do have some pimples, but the real reason why I use foundation, is to make me look a bit more tan, because I'm really white. And plus, it works for me, so I really like that. So light or medium coverage would be good. And I really don't want it that expensive.)

2. Do you suggest that liquid foundation, powder foundation, or moose foundation is good for normal skin? Or do you say all three are fine?

3. What is a good powder to set your makeup?

4. Is a toner and an exfoilator required for normal skin people?

5. Is the Neutrogena Healthy Skin Liquid Makeup - Tan/120 a good foundation?

6. Is the Maybelline Volum' Express Colossal Mascara - Glam Black a good mascara?

7. What is a good eyelash curler?

8. What is a good face/foundation primer? (That is not so expensive)

9. Does the Maybelline Eye Makeup Collection work well? (It includes the Moisturizing Eye Makeup Remover for Waterproof Eye Makeup, the 100% Oil-Free Eye Makeup Remover for Washable Eye Makeup, the Eye Makeup Remover Towelettes for Washable Eye Makeup, the Eyelash Curler, and the Eyelash Curler Refills.)

10. Are the Ecotools Brushes good brushes?

11. Is the Urban Decay Eye Shadow Primer Potion a good eye shadow primer?

12. What is a good bronzer?

13. Could you use both a tinted moisturizer and a foundation, or is that too much? Could you just use a moisturizer and foundation?

14. Is the Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer a good face/foundation primer?

15. What are good makeup and skin care brands that aren't so expensive, and what are some that are sort of expensive?

16. Do you have any other tips or anything like that for me? (I'm a beginner in makeup and skin care)

I'd really appreciate it if you'd answer as many question as you can. I'm a beginner in makeup and skin care, so I really want to know lots of information about this stuff, so I'm sorry if their a lot of questions.

    1. Covergirl Natureluxe Foundations seem like they would work great for you. Their coverage is medium-high and if you go one or two shades darker than it will give you that tanned look without the orange.

    2. All three would work fine if one of those is all you had, but I would suggest a liquid foundation. I personally think that it gives a better finish and coverage better than the other two. It's more dewy. The powder foundations could work, but they leave your skin dry and looking flaky. Mousse foundations would be a great alternative to liquid, because they have good coverage as well, but I still think liquid foundations look a lot prettier.

    3. If you're on a tight budget then I would suggest the Covergirl Ultimate Finish Powders because they make your foundation last ten times longer than any other drugstore powders i have ever tried and it doesnt make your skin look flaky. If you are willing to spend the extra bucks, then Smashbox is the way to go.

    4. I wouldn't say so. My skin is normal as well, but I use them on dry skin too. The exfoliation will take away flakiness and dry skin, while the toner will dry up oily areas. (Or at least it does for me.)

    5. I think i'm in love with Nuetrogena Healthy Skin Foundation. It really does what it says it will, as it truthfully makes your skin more clear and healthy. It gives good coverage as well and cancels out discoloration.

    6. Yes, it's great. I think any of the Maybelline Volum' Express Mascaras work amazingly. They give great definition and volume as well as that jet black color.

    7. Personally, I don't really think it matters on which brand you get because almost all of them are the same unless you get a heated one. They have eyelash curlers at places like Walmart, Target, and even the Dollar Store.

    8. Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer is my favorite. I use it every day and it doesn't make my face dry or oily and it really does make my foundation stay on all day.

    9. Yes, the makeup removers are probably some of the best drugstore ones i've used in a while and the eyelash curler is really durable.

    10. OH MY GOSH, YES. I love them so much. They're my second favorite other than MAC.

    11. They work really well and make your eye makeup stay on all day. They come in a variety of colors and sizes as well.

    12. I like the Benefit Hoola Bronzers.

    13. Yes, in fact, you should always use some kind of moisturizer. It will provide for a smooth surface for foundation application. The tinted moisturizer shouldn't look cakey because they usually have little to no coverage so it's not going to stack on top of your skin.

    14. See question 8.

    15. Inexpensive: Covergirl, Maybelline, Olay, Almay, Rimmel, Sally Hansen, Hard Candy, Ulta, Loreal.

Expensive: Smashbox, Anastasia, Bare Minerals, Benefit, Bobbi Brown, Buxom, Chanel, Clinique, Dior, DKNY, Dulce and Gabana, Too Faced, Temptu, Lorac, Makeup Forever, NARS, Stila, MAC.

    16. I'll be happy to answer any questions in e-mail. Good luck!

    16. Do you have any other tips or anything like that for me? (I'm a beginner in makeup and skin care)

always remove makeup before you go to bed, don't overdo it with ur makeup, focuse on either ur eyes or ur lips. never a strong lip (ie. red) AND a 'strong' eye (ie. smokey)! umm, drink loads of water - it really makes a difference:)

    no problem, i enjoyed it:)

    1. If you have normal skin, liquid foundation will give you a dewy finish, but some can cause breakuts. I recommend a mineral foundation, and use a good concealer (Amazing Concealer from Sephora) to cover any blemishes! If u prefer liquid foundation, I recommend Almay Truly Lasting, Rimmel 25 hour, Lancome Teint Idole.

    2. All three are fine,it depends on your preference and skin type. I personally prefer liquid, because it is easier to work with, easier to blend, and doesn't accentuate dry patches.

    3. Lancome's Dual Finish Powder is good, as well as BareMinerals Mineral Veil, and MAC Blot Powde.

    4. I would recommend a gentle toner at nighttime (i.e. Avene, Bioderma, or Neutrogena) to rid of any extra makeup or dirt. Toners are also good in the summer. Scrubs and facial exfoiliators are good for normal skin, but only use them about once a week or every two weeks.

    5. Neutrogena's makeup are not that good in my opinion, because they make skin products, and do not have as much expertise in beauty.

    6. From what I have heard that is a good mascara, though I have never tried it. I really also recommend Dior Show, Yves Saint Laurent Effet Faux Cils, Rimmel Glam'Eyes, and Almay i-colour technology :)

    7. Shu Uemura's eyelash curler is very good, and worth more expensive price.

    8. Lancome's La Base Pro Primer is very good, and so is Loreal Studio Secrets Primer!

9.Maybelline is not a designer brand, but I would say some of the parts of that kit are very good, such as eye make up removers. The eye lash curler, isn't that good...a higher end brand one is better.

    10. I'm sorry, I have never used ecotools brushes :( I recommend Sephora, Lancome and MAC brushes :)

    11. I have heard that eyeshadow primer is very good. I also really like Lancome's Eye Primer :)

    12. BareMinerals Bronzer is really good.

    13. I would recommend only tinted moisturizer, and then just conceal any needed areas (blemishes, dark circles) This looks very natural!

    14. Smashbox foundation is very good, I have never tried it with the primer.

    15. Expensive brands that are very good, are Chanel, Yves Saint Laurent, MAC, Lancome and Dior. Non-Expensive brands that are pretty good are Rimmel, Cover Girl, Loreal, and Lise Watier.

    16. For skin care, use a gentle cleanser on your face twice daily, and unless you have acne, don't use an acne cleanser. Cetaphil is a very good gentle cleanser. Also, Moisturize your face, and put on sunscreen EVERY DAY even if its not sunny...this will prevent wrinkles. For foundation, use a stippling brush or your fingers for liquid types. I also recommend curling your lashes b4 mascara, an highlight the inner corners of your eyes, your brow bone, your cupids bow and the centre of ur lids with white eyliner, and then blend w/ ur finger. This is very effectivE

Sorry for thevery long reply! Hoep i helped u!

Oh Darling you need to get yourself to the nearest sephora where they give you samples of any foundation primer tinted moisturizer mascara shadows and skin care. Another thing, I say if your face dosen need anything as far as exfoliator/toners yadda yaddahh then don't. I do however recomen to wear a moisturizer when you find that foundation. Also remember this you get what you paid for so if you don't want a foundation that looks like cake on your face I say try some higher end products which u can find at sephora. Diffrent prices. And yes the urban decay eye primer is good but not necessary you don't need an eyelash curler u can do that with your mascara wand I recomend the cover girl in the purple tube don't know what its called. The smashbox primer is good but keep in mind these products work for me. But everyone is diffrent. A good bronzer depends on finding the color that compliments your skin, and finallly. The besssst tip I can give you is to shop around test products get samples see how they feel on your skin and how they work for you like I said head to your nearest sephora. A good brand I recomend as my favorite is mac 8)

A good liquid foundation is Fit Me foundation by Maybelline, you can buy it at almost any drug store for about $8.00

It has light coverage & evens out your skin tone.

I think that normal skin people can really wear anything, I wear both powder foundation & liquid foundation.

http://www.eyeslipsface.com/Default.asp sells great pressed powder called "Clarifying Pressed powder", if you decide to purchase it make sure you don't put to much on because it will give your face a unnatural color. (It's $1.00)

    Toner = no

    Exfoliater = yes.

I have never tried it so I have no clue.

I have never tried it so I have no clue.

http://www.eyeslipsface.com/Default.asp sells a great Mechanical Eyelash curler for $1.00

http://www.eyeslipsface.com/Default.asp sells a great Mineral Primer for about $6.00

I have never tried it so I have no clue.

Yes, they are very soft & worth the price.

I have never tried it so I have no clue.

http://www.eyeslipsface.com/Default.asp sells great bronzer for $1.00

I think it would be better to use just a moisturizer & foundation, not tinted moisturizer & foundation because that will look cakey.

I have never tried this so I have no clue.

I like using Cold Cream, you can find it at almost and Drug Store.

Cold Cream is great for taking off makeup & leaving your face really soft.

    Tips;

Make sure to exfoliate your skin at least once a week.

Drink plenty of water if you don't chapped lips.

If you decide to use a sponge wedge to apply you foundation/concealer/blush/etc then remember to wash it once every other day & throw it away after 2 weeks.

Remember; just because makeup might be low-prices does NOT mean it's bad quality.

Good luck, I hope I helped!

    2. try to use mousse, its whipped, and wont be too heavy on normal skin.

    4. no, but it makes your skin soo much healthier looking.

    6. ehh okay, dries too fast.

    7. any drugstore one, nothing specific.

    10. yeah, super soft.

    11. the best in makeup industry.

    15. MAC, Maybelline, Revlon, Hard Candy, Tokidoki, NYC has okay stuff, some are okay, some are marvelous, some are crap.

    16. -never cake things on.

-take it slow, you do NOT want to rush junk you are putting on your face all day for people to see, you might look like godzilla.

-keep things minimal, the less, the better.

-dont spend all your money on everything under the sun pertaining to makeup.

-look around before you make a purchase, and research before buying something! (this tip is super helpful to me, saved so much money and never made a crap purchase!)

-have fun with makeup, the point is to emphasize your beauty, dont change into a plastic barbie, not only because it wont fit you, but it will look ugly!
