AVITricks Video Editor :
AviTricks is a non-linear, non-destructive AVI video editor with real-time preview. It makes cutting and joining footage easy and includes a wide range of built-in adjustable effects that can be used separately or in combination. (Effects include dissolves, mirror image, sepia, iris effects, fades, TV-shop and many more.) Besides the preview screen, the video you are working on is also represented clearly and graphically on a timeline and a tree-structure. Both of these fields are active and easy to work.
Movica :
Movica is just a graphical user interface that uses some fine programs to edit movie files. A great deal of emphasis has been placed on keyboard shortcuts to make the job of editing easier. Basically, it is meant for editing the kind of movies that VirtualDub won’t. V-Dub is primarily an AVI editor, Movica will work on .wmv, .flv, .rm and .mpg files. This makes it more versatile than Virtualdub.
Blender :
Blender is the free open source 3D content creation suite, available for all major operating systems under the GNU General Public License. It is one of the powerful, multi-use editing/compositing and modeling tool. This tool allows you to edit, create 3D graphics, sound effects, add special effects and much more.
Cinefx Jashaka :
Cinefx is an offline playback, editing, encoding, animation and visual effects tool based on the Jahshaka technology that allows you to create professional digital media on your desktop. Use the tools that hollywood uses to create blockbuster films and special effects.
Avid FreeDV
Avid FreeDV is available for both Windows and MAC operating systems, and includes basic video and audio editing capabilities, as well as up to two streams of real-time effects. On the whole, a solid video editing program that is slightly hard to use, but very powerful once you learn its ins and outs.
Wax
Wax is a high performance and flexible free video editing software program. It
started out as a college project, and has since grown. Wax is good for both
home users and professionals. It can be used as a stand-alone application, or
as a plug-in to other video editors. The software also features unlimited video and audio tracks with top-down compositing.
Zwei-Stein
Zwei-Stein is great free video editing software, but the user interface is
very technical. It is full featured, offering many different effects. It can
edit up to 256 video, audio, and still image clips. There are up to 64 effects, which can be chained serially. An interesting program that's worth looking at.

To Zynga Poker - Sony Vegas isn't free. You must have got it illegally.
Anyway. If you have a Windows PC (I'm sure you do) you can use Windows Movie Maker. You can definitely add titles, credits, noises (As in sound) you can remove sound as well, you can certainly cut and trim video and there are various effects including slow motion and blur. Yes, it's free and should already be on your computer (XP and beyond I think). It does what you're asking for and I've used it in my Media class (I should be using something better in Media class but oh well) and it's rather easy to use.
Maybe you already know about it and don't want to use it. I'm not sure what else there is that's free. I'm on a Mac so I use higher class things (Final Cut). I don't bother looking for free software ;)
If you have a Mac just use iMovie. It still does everything you're asking!
Source(s): I don't really have a source from anyone...but just thought I'd say, my dad's a professional editor. I know what I'm talking about people :) - Anonymous5 years ago
