How to fix Lip Sync Issues when using Home Theater System?

Hello,

I recently purchased a Philips HTS3051BV Home Theater System. I am using a Digital Coaxial Cable from my Television to the HTS. However, when watching television, I can notice the sync between video and audio become increasingly noticeable in difference. I have an Xbox 360 hooked up through AV cables, and I do not experience any video/audio issues. What are some ways I can fix the issue? Thank you for your time.

Update:

I have a 32 Inch HDTV Sylvania. As for the cable box, I am just using another coaxial cable to get satellite.

If you have a digital cable box hooked to the TV, you need to directly hook it up to the system. Just bypass the TV entirely. What is happening is the analog signal has to be converted to a digital signal on the TV then back again on the system. This slows down the audio process. This is a common problem. The processors used in these cheap TV & theater system (what a joke) are just off the shelf parts that the maker contracted to the lowest bidder. Often times you would be surprised at just how old that technology is by the time they get around to making the theater systems themselves. I don't know what TV you have, but the best piece of equipment you have is the X-box.
