Ca3(PO3)2, what is the name and how did you get it?

I know that is calcium phosphite, but I was wondering how you came up with that answer. Can someone help me so that I can answer questions similiar to this?

Thanks

Ca is calcium, so that part is not hard, right?

To get the second part of these names, you need to know or be able to look up the formulas of a dozen or two polyatomic ions.

That knowledge allows you to recognize that PO4 -3 is phosphate and PO3 -3 is phosphite.

There's more to it, but that's the gist.
