How did you go about cleaning the keyboard? We HAVE to know this information to tell you whether or not you are screwed.

if you used water,they wont function till you have some techie open up the whole laptop(as in disassemble it).have some good cash with you. meanwhile,use the on screen keyboard(if using vista or win 7,just type keyboard on the search space that shows up when you click start) or buy a usb keyboard and get going!
