Nani was so injured that he managed to get himself off the floor and run 20 yards to the referree before throwing himself back on the floor and starting to cry. Carra's tackle was a bit high but so was Rafael's on Lucas - even worse in fact because the intent was clearly there while Carra was actually pulling his foot away from the tackle.

McCarthy is made of sterner stuff.

Why wasn't Nani wearing shinpads (you know, those things designed to protect the lower legs against these sorts of tackles which happen in EVERY game?) Besides Nani was able to walk out of the ground, so it's not as if it's a lengthly spell out. He got a cut on his leg, a deep one, but still a cut. No damage to bone or muscle. We'll probably chip in for some butterfly stitches ( i hear he's scared of real sutures)

I watched the game yesterday.

The Manchester United player Rafael also made a horrible tackle on Liverpool's Lucas.

So both the players(Carragher and Rafael) should have been given red cards.

Also I'm not sure why Nani was not wearing shinguards, since they're compulsary.

I have never agreed with the saying that "two wrongs dont make a right". On the contarry, two wrongs do make a right!

Especially in a case like this. I am all for overpaid spoilt players of the so called "big clubs" kicking peices out of each other and having career threatening injuries. It might give the rest of us a chance to catch up.

to be honest nani has had that coming, his cheating and winding up of opposition fans comes at a price. not excusing what carragher did but it was just a matter of time before someone did him.

Just because Rooney was a **** against Wigan doesn't mean Carragher should be a **** against United and it doesn't justify it.

well you're hardly going to change the referee's mind by running a mile to him to emphasise your injury and then collapsing in front of him like some little baby for him to send Carra off. Rightly so, after looking at it several times that was a sending off for Carra but he did look honestly sorry for what he did.

You should be thanking Carra because if it wasn't for that tackle which we've all admitted was a bad one , you utd fans would have nothing else to moan about and we all know you love a good moan !!

I'm not sure a graze on the shin can be considered potentially "Career ending". What are these players made of? Eggshells?
