Why is high school so hard?

It just seems that no matter how hard I try, I keep getting about 60% on all my tests and assements, etc. Why is that? I study, I get extra help, WTF?

Umm that's a really hard question, but i feel the same way but with 88%, like no matter how hard i try on things, or a class, i always end up around 88%. It's really sad, because with classes I'm really good in, I'll still get the same as a class I'm bad in. It's annoying, and i believe that it just deals with how well you can deeply understand the material, because anyone can memorize a problem, but the ability to work that problem and apply it to life is what matters on the test in most cases. Teachers aren't going to give you the same question you do everyday. For me at least, my teachers spin it differently then it's been given to me in the HW. Especially with science, apply it too your life. It's kinda hard to do so with like basic bio, but with Chemistry and physics and anatomy, by applying it to your everyday life, allows you to see it and understand it better. For example, I'm in physics right now, every time i see a ball in the air, i think of the function to solve for that problem.

I have the same exact problem. All you have to do is study hard. If that doesn't work you could consider getting a tutor. I know everything seems hard at first but just keep trying. Make flash cards and as someone to help quiz you on stuff. You don't need to do it on your own.

Maybe you just need some extra help. You are probably better at assignments and maybe revising and remembering facts and figures is not you, Do your best and look at other methods of studying.Talk to a counselor and your teachers. They can help you better.

You probably need to adjust the way you learn. Try different ways till your find something that actually sticks to your head. I am not sure if this will help you or if you have been using this method but try flashcards. Those helped me a lot.
