Average price is about $2100. You might get a used one for about $1900.

Depends on the model, obviously. New range from $500 to over $80,000. "Beginner" models are from $500 to $2000 or so.Value is lost quickly, so make sure you work your way up to more expensive models only after you know you are thoroughly hooked. The more expensive they are, the more quickly their value is lost. A $50,000 new model would probably lose 30% of its new price in a year, and over 60% in 5.
