He told me, I can't tell anyone?
Okay I'll try to make this short.
So theres a guy at my school, and for a while he's been like my best friend. Never more because I alway kind of knew he was...different. Just the other day he told me he was gay. I promised not to tell a SOUL. (you guys don't count, he'll never see this.) anyway, I've never been teased or made fun of, but recently there's been rumors that me & him are dating. I tell people it's not true but they don't listen. How can I make them shut up without telling the secret? I've tried ignoring them and brushing it off, but it's honestly just getting on my last nerve and all I want is for it to stop without losing his trust. :|

You shouldn't care about what others think, as long as you know the truth you shouldn't feel like you need to prove it to the others. And you defiantly shouldn't tell your friends secret, he might be pissed off at you, or get made fun of for it. If you still think you need to prove that you two aren't going out then here's some things you could do:
Date another guy, even if it's just for a day or the nerd, at least people would know that you aren't dating your friend.
Have a pretend break-up in front of people so they think that it's over and they will stop teasing you.
You should also ask your gay friend if he can do anything to stop the false rumors, and he shouldn't care if people think he's gay, he should be gay and proud, because if he is, he will feel so much better about himself.

so? if people think your dating whats the big deal? let them think what they want, you dont need to deny or acknowledge the rumours. whats more important to you, some inconsequential people being wrong or you honoring your mates trust?

Idk what you could say to them, but whatever you do I'd defiantly try not to tell anybody his secret, because it could totally ruin his friendships with some of his guy friends or his friendship with you :o!
