How do I get into http://192.168.1.1?

I am trying to reset the password on my Linksys wrt54g. It tells me to log on to this site. My web browser won't go there. Any suggestions?

You have to be connected to the WRT54G. Set your network settings to obtain an IP address automatically. Once you've received an IP address on your computer, you should be able to type http://192.168.1.1/ into a web browser where you will then be prompted for a username and password. By default the username is blank and the password is admin.

http://www.computingsolutionskc.com/ has network technicians that can help with problems such as this.

First you have to connect to the router using a cat5 Ethernet cable and then type the 192.168.1.1 into the browser. Put the router software CD into the drive and open it and read the user and set up guide. Or go to Linksys customer support for the set up and user guide and instructions on changing the password and security settings.

    192.168.1.1

Is one of the commonly used default private Internet Protocol addresses which are being used by many hardware manufacturers as a part of factory settings. They set them as default (factory settings), but they are changeable (depending on your preferences) through a router panel (and can be done with no trouble, by a qualified person).

Then apparently someone changed the I.P. addy in your router interface page. Open a command prompt by typing cmd and enter. Type ipconfig /all in the box. Look for the default gateway address. That will be the I.P. addy to your router.
