Yes, there is an Amtrak station in Rochester at 320 Central Avenue.

Go to the Amtrak page http://www.amtrak.com/servlet/ContentServer?pagena... and enter Rochester, NY (or just ROC) in the "From" box and New York-Penn Station (or just NYP) in the "To" box, enter the date and time as applicable and click on "GO". (If you leave the time set as "Anytime" then you get all the trains for that day of the week.)

The resulting page will give you the trains available and the cost of the tickets (and travel time).

The cost will range from $57 to $97 (+/-) depending on the train.

Important to note: each train requires a reserved seat ticket. It is very possible that a train (or trains) could be sold out for the that day. When possible buy the ticket in advance (online or at the station).

For the trip from NY Penn to Rochester, NY just switch the "From" and "To".

There is an Amtrak station in Rochester, New York and the one way fare from there to New York City will rage from $80 to $110 if you travel on the weekends.

However, the fare will drop to a rage of $60 to $80 if you travel during the week.

    Good luck
