What is your opinion of single mothers who have several children and sponge?
Do you think the Government should only support the first child if the mother is clearly having children with no intention of ever finding a job. This will create a larger 'underclass' in society if this continues.
And should new housing estates have to allocate a percentage for them to live there? I viewed houses last year and avoided 'new estates', because of this.
I was a single mother myself so I am not picking on these individuals. I went to night classes to further my education and get a decent job, rented my own flat and worked hard all my life and did not claim any benefits, so there is no excuse. I wanted to set a good example to my child and be a good role model.
Aware that some mothers do make the effort. But the ones I am talking about are the young teenage mothers, who continue to breed and sponge and their poor kids have no role model. Why should they be allowed to have 3-4 kids and expect the taxpayer to support them.

What they should do is go after the deadbeat fathers in this case and force them to work in any job the Job Centre finds for them to support their children. There are jobs - people can't be picky. The KFC around the corner from me has had a job vacancies sign in the window for almost 3 months and there is a huge estate across the street. How many people there do you think have applied?
A 16 year old should not be given council housing. If you want to see the pregnancy rate drop, make it a law that if you are under 18 and have a child you either need to live with your parents, get married and live with your husband, or live in a home for teen mums. This is what they used to have in the 1950s/60s - you had homes for unwed mums. Back then women didn't even have the option of the pill so you'd think pregnancy rates then would have been higher. But they are nowhere near the rates they are today
Instead of paying money in benefits, the government would be better off putting that money towards child care and job training and getting these girls into work and giving them a sense of worth and acoomplishment. If they don't see any future for themselves, then they aren't going to even try to get a job. And remember, most of them were from the same type of home where they grew up on benefits with an absent father and mother who never worked and probably had a string of deadbeat boyfriends passing through

The mothers who have three kids, with no intention of ever working to support them should be medically sterilised to prevent them from having more. It's not fair they can have lots of children - whereas responsbile families stop at two or three, because they know that they can do the BEST for that amount of children.
My boyfriend and I would love to have as many children as possible (we've not started yet, because we're not married yet) but we know that with our incomes, we could probably only afford two children (and having an only child isn't an option for us - we've both agreed that we want our children to have a sibling).
We work hard for our money, so why should the spongers be allowed to have an never ending parade of children whereas us hard workers has to limit the number we have due to how many we can afford?
It has been proven that children of parents who did not work and sponged off benefits are highly likely to do so themselves, creating a chain reaction right through the family that'll get bigger and bigger.
There are single mothers out there, that desperately want to work but can't - but they actively seek work and instill in their children the importance of a good education.

The children should be removed from the mother if she has not got the means to support them and is sponging 100% off the state. There are too many people getting away with draining the coffers like that (at least over here)
Whatever about if the mother makes an effort to support her family, I don't mind her getting some assistance while making an effort, but those making none, don't deserve to raise the children. Its unfair to them

I see where you are coming from , iv met one such mother age 16 with 2 children , she was just so immature i couldn't believe she was allowed to keep the 2 little ones , her attitude was , when i have number 3 i will have enough money to go on holiday with me mates , TO SPAIN , i was disgusted , and the kiddies looked weak and feeble , i don't understand where her parents are coming from, the mothers mother said yeah she needs a brake , i was mortified , my attitude is this , every one is entitled to make a mistake , yes and we all do , but after that they should sterilise them , seems harsh dos it , well this country is in a mess because of people like her ,and other dole bludgers , we of course have the genuine who need help , but self inflicted ,NO

what about the ones who are on benefits and are looking for work same as the males and just can't find work due to a little thing we had called a recession which we are recovering from i am glad that you have work on your shoulders. but some people don't just because your on benefits don't mean they all fit into the stereotype of not wanting to work. i've had job interviews and one of them they told me a 100 people applied for this one job they narrowed it down to 50 then 15. i was in that 15 simply because i done voluntary work. i no your not disrespecting people on benefits but the people that do should be the ones unemployed and they should see how hard it is. i got loads of different qualifications behind me what's it all worth when there is no work or not the right amount of work to go about.

i could not agree with you more.but only if the government and many other taxpayers would see things how we do.but the government and many other people have no issue letting a woman have as many kids as she wants and foot the bill for it.i have too many issues with doing for people who are lazy and have kids with no intentions of getting a decent paying job or furthering their education.if only there were limits on the programs to who could get it and for how long, then the country would not be in any deficit trying to fund programs like these and cutting from other important ones in the process.
