Dragon Age 2 Deep Road Expedition Problem?

Requirements:

Complete the following quest:

-A Friend in the Guard

-Tranquility

-Enemies Among Us

-Wayward Son

-Long Way Home

-Act of Mercy

-Blackpowder Promise

-Shepherding Wolves

AND…

-Pay Bartrand 50 sovereigns OR accept Dougal’s offer in the "Friend in Low Places" quest

-Deliver the maps acquired from Anders (you get these from the "Tranquility" quest)

Note: You must have Varric in your party. If you complete the above and do not have Varric with you, Bartrand will instruct you to come back with his brother (Varric).

So I've got 50 gold and the map(I have 5 party members),but when I talk to the dwarf he keeps telling that we are going to leave in a couple of weeks and that I need to settle any unfinished business.

Go to Hawke's house, read the message on table (beside Hawke's uncle), accept all the Quest the message's been give you, finish Quest then return to Battrand and go to deep roads

i have 68 gold and i beat every mission up to this long one. now friends in low places is a quest and he would make it so i wouldnt have to spend the 50 gold. should i pay the 50 gold or should i have this guy give me a free pass? would you benifit in any way paying the 50 ?

you wont benifit anything if you give 50gold, infact you will get those back after the expedition
