Sir, have you been drinking tonight? Wait, sorry. Force of habit.

In all seriousness, it is not legal to carry an expandable baton [concealed] on your person UNLESS you have a valid concealed carry endorsement, are a licensed security guard, or are a cop, probation officer or similar state-employed official.

If you do not have a permit and aren't a guard or cop, it is not per se illegal to carry a baton openly in plain view of others. So, if you were to carry it in a pouch, it would have to stick out the top so the handle can be seen and your clothing cannot cover it.

What happens if you need to use it? Could you bring something like that down with enough force to put a stop to someone? Be honest with yourself about the answer. What would you do if you decided to use it, took a swipe at someone, didn't put them down, made them really mad, had it taken from you and ended up with a skull fracture from your own toy. Last one, could you live with the thought you put someone in a wheel chair or worse? There may or may not be a law against it, there is however many reason you might want to leave something like that alone.

Good things happen slow and bad things happen fast.

I know several LEOs in Missouri and this has come up several times over the years, yes it is legal to carry and use. It is not considered a black jack in Missouri but a "martial arts tool". At least three of these guys have been involved in assaults where these were used and the weapon was never even considered. Do not be surprised if you are in the wrong though (read up on Mo self defense and CCW) , to get charged with felony unlawful use of a weapon, or unlawful concealment of same. Caveat, unless you are experienced in fighting hand to hand and winning, you are better off carrying a firearm if you can.

    NO! Learn to spell.

That would probably be considered a "concealed weapon."
