japan is obviously still in a chaotic state, there is no official death toll yet, don't worry, don't panic

The death toll of japans earthquake which is tragic can in in a few hundred thousand but what worries the most is the luck which has played its part is not having too many casualities in terms of a nuclear disaster because the nuclears plants are designed to withstand earthquakes of upto 8 to 9 on the ricter and the one which has stuck is just at the brink. if the earthquake was to be little later in days could have touched the full 10 as the preassure built would have been tremendous. Luck has been in favour of Japan as only a Earthquake and Tsunami had stuck it.

The most of the people predicted this event by 19th march on the full moon day.if it had happened at that time then japan might have been devastated. we cannot control our technologies with just good will but we can control our luck by good deed.

Don't panic? When the heck are we going to panic, when a building falls on top of our heads? The truth is, we have never, in the history of the era, been as susceptible to earthquakes as we are this upcoming years. We should all be ready and look up information about what to do in case of an earthquake. But to answer your question, it is too early to tell how many will be found, but so far there are at least 300 confirmed dead and the toll is expected to go as high as 1,000, expected to have drowned from the tsunami that followed. Check links at bottom please.

What is happening to our Earth? Here so far in 2011 for Australia, we have had 3 cyclones (one being the biggest in our history - only a little bit smaller than hurricane Katrina) Massive devastating floods in QLD and fires. NZ earthquake was devastating, and now Japan. Not to mention all of the other disasters that have probably happened and we haven't heard about. I think we're all going to die in 2012 as the prophets suggest...

Right now it's too early to start a death toll. People who report others missing may be perceived as reporting a death. within the next couple of days an accurate death toll will be able to be calculated.

Now CNN just had a banner saying

More than 9,500 people unaccounted for in Minamisanriku, Japan, Kyodo News Agency reports.

Japan seems to be prepared. There were quakes since march 9th. Also it occured during day time today. So i guess toll would not be as large as that 2004 indonesia.

But from what i see in news, Houses and ships were swept away. I guess death toll would be atleast 1k and heavy casuality. Let us see how this crisis will be handled.

    My prayers to Japansese

There is no way that they can get the accurate death toll yet. This is going to last a while and it will continue to rise...but they say it's expected to rise to over 1000.
