Diet is important to help you control your blood glucose levels. Usually high fiber, low fat, low carbohydrates. It is also advised to take meals in small frequent feedings (5 times a day) rather than 3 bigger meals.

Exercise is also important because obesity can result in insulin resistance. It has been said that obese people have fewer insulin receptors than that of a lean person. Exercise lowers the risk of cardiovascular diseases. It also helps lower blood glucose levels by increasing sensitivity to insulin and muscles can also use glucose even without insulin in active states.
