I just watched a news report on this. The last major earthquake on the same ring of tectonic plates occurred a few months ago, south of Japan. So, I would say the next major earthquake on this ring would occur north of Japan.

I think there are a few places that are "overdue' and it is very difficult to predict an earthquake, even a big one. The places that are most vulnerable are regions near a major fault line.

My bet is somewhere near Alaska, kinda amazing, New Zeland just got hit then a couple weeks later Japan was rocked....serious activity is going on right now.
