Would brushing on melted margarine work the same as spreading some on?

I want to start freezing sandwiches and putting on a protective barrier of butter or margarine seems to be the way to go but it seemed like I used a ton of margarine and it took longer than I'd like so I thought about melting it first and just brushing a layer on. I think it would work but I'd love to hear what you think

Update:

The butter or margarine is to keep the other ingredients from making the bread soggy and help it all freeze properly, I will certainly package the sandwiches before putting them in the freezer. I had thought that freezing the bread with the butter brushed on would do the same, but that would probably be just like freezing wet bread.

melting it and putting it on would cause the bread to get soggy . when you melt the butter you change its consistency from semisolid to a liquid form so it could benefit your bread and sandwhich taste to leave it in its solid form . They do have spreadable butter it works too.
