I'm looking for a legitimate yet relatively inexpensive study abroad program in Barcelona?

This summer I really want to do a study abroad Spanish program in Barcelona, but I'm having trouble finding programs that aren't over seven thousand dollars for four weeks. I really want to do a program that is legitimate, and I've looked at a few, but my fears are that they aren't going to be as nice as the ones that are expensive. I am seventeen and going to be graduating 11th grade this summer. Can you recommend any to me? Thank you.

Pleas take my advice, do not pay any school do not, you WILL be ripped off. I paid for study abroad in france to a school in my hometown and I was compeltly jipped and had to sue to get my money back. When I got there I realized that I could have spent a fraction of the money and got WAY better.

When I got to France I realized there were already FREE french schools by the french government to educate immigrants that i could have attended and they probably exist in Spain too just like they exist in every country with immigrants.

Basically it comes to this, you can pay 7-10k to a school for a crappy housing or even a good one, and crappy food etc. or, you can stay in a 4 star hotel for 30 days at $200 a day or even ask a 5 star hotel for a deal of $200 a day (a guy at the hotel told me they would have given me the deal when i was leaving as the rooms just sat empty anyways) if you stay for 30 days. Even a busy hotel will have only 80-90% capacity and still have empty rooms so they'd rather rent them out at a discount and there are also discount sites that can get you 5 star hotels for $200 a day or less. So 6k on a 5 star hotel, get any food you want, buy it yourself for $900 in a month eating 2 meals of $15 a day, which is alot and I'm a big guy and only spend $20 a day, and go to free french school.

So you can give your money to a school from crap accomodations or get any food you want. alternatively you could rent out a house, and I mean a mansion for 5k a month and spend 1k on food and 1k on car rental/travel and 1k a month on a private tutor to come to your house every day. When you go to spain you can easily hire a spanish tutor from a university who is a student and will gladly teach you all day for 1k a month. so all in all you can get a one on one tutor, a 5 star hotel or a mansion, a car to travel around or travel expense, great food you like for less than the unknown crap the travel company will give you

I repeat stay far far away from exchange schools or study abroad schools complete and utter rip off.

I simply acquired completed with a six week summer season software on the University of the Americas in Puebla. By the top of the software I spoke Spanish good ample to journey within the southern states of Mexico on my own. Probably the pleasant facet of the software was once that I lived with a Mexican household. This pressured me to talk Spanish all day lengthy. I'd say that whichever path you move, you must seem for an educational software that presents homestay.
