2009 hyundai accent gls gas mileage?

On my Hyundai's cars I find on the interstate that about 1/4 tank goes about 100 miles... you say city and hy., now you have a little less than 1/8 tank... without really checking the gas mileage, sounds about right to me so I see nothing wrong.

If you live in a densely populated area, i.e. a big city, then your gas mileage will be lower than the expected gas mileage due to constant stop and go traffic, and sometimes even being in a traffic jam where your car just sits there blasting the AC, using gas and not going anywhere. Thus your car does work by using the gas, but you do not gain any mileage. Furthermore, if you accelerate like a speedracer between the stop lights, then you will use alot more gas than just coasting from stop light to stop light.

Gas mileage is dependent on many things - proper tire pressure, no fast starts, coasting to a red light and not driving up to it and then hitting the brakes, etc. In addition you need to take an average over a few tanks, don't go by the gas guage as they are not that accurate.

i have the 2008 acent GLs with a 5 speed.

I average, 24 MPG. (pretty bad for a 1.6L)

I get the same fuel economy with my 2010 Dodge Caravan SXT 4L V6.

i jsut bought a 2009 hyundai accent gls 4 door automatic trans. My question is what are people with this year an model getting for mileage per tank? My tank is 11.9 gallons and I'm a little less than 1/8 left and I've only gone 295 miles. That's like 26mpg. Far from the 27 city/35...

About 24mpg.
