What is middle class income actually?

If there were an income distribution chart, with the wealthiest 25% dropped off and the poorest 25% dropped off, what is the range of income in between? From what to what? Would that be what could truly be called the middle class?

Update:

I'm looking for the range, bottom to top -- I have a feeling that the top number is going to be lower than we imagine.

In the United States middle class is $45 to $150k.

In the rest of the world the US middles class is considered the top 10% of all wealth

in the word. Crazy how wealthy the US is and takes is for granted.

If you make just $10 a day you are in the top 20% of the wealthiest people in the world.

The median household income in the United States is $46,326. Dual earner households have a higher median income at $67,348. I would call that middle class and even up it to $100k.

If you ask a trailer park conservative he will say 2 welfare checks a week, but if you ask a hard working liberal you might hear about 50,000.
