is it ok if i wear my contact lenses in a pool?
im gonna go to a pool with some of my friends and im wondering if i can wear contacts in them... im not gonna swim or anything, the most i will ever do is dip my head underwater (and yes i will close my eyes...). so what im gonna do all the time is just walk around the pool, maybe doggie paddle swim, and dip my head under water to get my hair wet (im not gonna open my eyes...). is this alright to do?
im just gonna stay in the pool, not swim or anything... and if i dip my head under water to get my hair wet, im gonna close my eyes really hard, and i will also place my hands in front of my face covering my eyes...

Don't be too concerned...... try and avoid water contact with your CL's.. and don't be too concerend about closing your eyes really hard, coz that can also make your CL's flip up behind your eyes...
Just enjoy yourself... wear goggles if you're going to swim... or spend more time underwater...
Once you've finiished with the pool and get home.. take them out and disinfect yoru CL's immediately...
Infuture, get your eye care prof. to fit you witl DAILY (single use) lenses for swimming pools...

Hello DJ,
We do not recommend wearing contact lenses while swimming. Soft contact lenses are very porous and can absorb the chemicals or impurities in the water, even if you are only in the pool for a short amount of time.
If you have more questions about contact lens wear we encourage you to consult your eye care professional.

Absolutely not. The chlorine in the pool definitely will not feel good. And could harm your eye and your contact. Even if you close your eyes, I would not recommend it at all.
