Do you believe in radioactive rain?

Some neighbor countries around Japan are scared of this one. Everyday, it seems that there are many nuclear power plants that are exploding due to the effects of the earthquake and the tsunami. And thus the question is: the radioactive rain will spread due to this one. Is this true or not?

radioactively contaminated rain has happened -- See the Black Rain of Nagasaki. The ongoing reactor emergencies in Japan are not likely to significantly contaminate anything other than locally. They are not atomic bombs and they are not related to the design flaws of Chernobyl. So please don't try to relate them like the media is doing.

No amount of belief makes something a fact.

This is a question for the Energy Information Administration, not Yahoo answers.

Their number is (202) 586-8800. They have the real facts that myself, and just about anybody else on this forum won't. I'm not spamming, but if you're serious about this, they are the people to call.

Many reactors exploding? There has only been one other explosion and that was in Russia almost 30 years ago. Yes there will be cesium particles in clouds if these reactors can't be shut down and capped off. They shouldn't be at harmful levels though except in Japan

Rain is technicaly not the correct term for the action that will occur but it is a common misnomer for the fallout that comes from an explosion of a nuclear device (power plant, bomb, et cetera.)

Fallout is an unseen cloud that can kill, burn, poison, make you sick, or do nothing at all. It's all about where your at and how much radiation you receive. Does it rain, figuratively speaking yes
