Celtic Cross Spread Diagram?

Hi, I'm wondering if there is a such a thing as a diagram of this layout that you can buy...like made of cloth or felt or something and you can put it on the table and put your cards in their right places on top of the diagram. It would look something like this:

http://www.mymidnightsky.com/images/celtic_cross_t...

Are these made? If so where can I buy one?

The one in the link says it comes laminated but it doesn't say if it's "life size" or not and I would prefer one made from cloth.

Update:

Thank you for your answer but this is not what I mean. I want to be able to take this layout and spread it out on the table and put my cards on top of it. I am a reader but I've only used the celtic cross a couple of times. I think it would be a easy way to learn if I could lay my cards out on a reusable cloth diagram.

Update 2:

Thank you Lesil, that is exactly what I'm talking about. It is expensive, good Lord! Hmmm...maybe I should look into making these myself. :)

    Hi Mel,

I checked with my local German suppliers Internet sites but no luck.

I can refer you to an eBay seller that you can contact. She does special orders of individual designs.

I have ordered from her for our group and was very satisfied. I have referred her to others and never heard any bad feedback. Here is her link: http://stores.ebay.com/nameunderconstruction/_i.ht...

If you do contact her please say Tom from the US Military group in Germany, Earth Lights Circle referred you so she knows where you got the info. She is very friendly and willing to work with the customer. For special requests from German suppliers they are much more expensive than she is.

As you commented you could make your own. Silk scarfs from a hobby shop and the paints or even markers for silk work well. You could also go with the normal cloth markers which work well with cotton and then use a table cloth in the size you want. This allows you to also put other designs on it if so desired to personalize it. As you know by making your own it can add to the feeling you have when working with things of this nature.

My wife gave a class on Runes and for her casting cloth she has a large cloth napkin that she hand embroidered the needed pattern on. This may also be something you could consider as it allows you to use different cloths and colors to fit with your personality. Personally I like black and dark colors which are not well suited for use as a base when markers are used. White generally works best for that.

I think you should look into making them. I can imagine a fantastic training tool: layout posters. Diagrams of various classic layouts in a "life size" on a poster, with explanations of what each position indicates right there on the poster. New readers could work on top of the poster until they get the hang of position meanings.

You could probably design these and set them up on a POD like zazzle. Might make some $$.

Why buy? Get a "custom" made tarot cloth by purchasing either felt or whatever cloth you like and using sharpie markers to trace your deck's card size on the fabric in whatever layouts you want.

I made my husband like six different layouts this way for his yule gift one year back when he was first learning tarot. He's passed them on since. (passed on: the cloths, not him lol)

I had a blast making them, and I've done several for others too. Have FUN with them!

Usually there is a paper copy that comes with the more popular kits (US Game System deck kits usually include it).

Personally, I think the CC spread is not very useful. Start with three-card spreads and expand from there if you're learning.

No cloth is required for tarot. That picture shows how the cards must be spread, the cards aren't put on a cloth for tarot to work.

There are several tarot spreads, and if you needed a cloth for every spread...you'd have thousands of cloths ;)

  • Well that is all well and nice but I would not pay $40.00 bucks for that. I would get a permanent marker and a piece of cloth and make my own. It looks simple enough hey Mel, send me $30.00 plus shipping and handling and I will make one to order for you. LOL...~M~

  • I made one out of peanut butter but is was a sticky mess. I learn my lessons the hard way.

Why not make your own with chalk, or pastels or fabric paint? I think you can do it:)

I didn't think it would be that hard to find what you are describing, but I really couldn't find much. Here is the only one I could find and it is expensive!! Merry Meet http://www.quicksales.com.au/vshops/item.aspx?item...
