In 1996 he was drafted by the Indiana Pacers and played for them for one year before being traded to the Golden State Warriors. Dampier played for the Warriors from 1997 to 2004, and was then traded to the Dallas Mavericks. He played for the Mavericks from 2004 to 2010 until being traded to the Charlotte Bobcats. Two months after being with the Bobcats, he was waived in September. In November the Miami Heat signed him, and he is currently their starting center.
To sum up:
1) Indiana Pacers
2) Golden State Warriors
3) Dallas Mavericks
4) Charlotte Bobcats (although he didn't play a game with the team)
5) Miami HEat
