I need some advice on my niece?

My 8 year old niece is staying with me for the weekend (she arrived earlier today). I have a three storey home, and the problem is she's sprained her ankle earlier this week (shes on crutches), so her walking upstairs to the spare bedroom is going to be a challenge. What will be the easiest way to carry her up the stairs at night, and down the stairs in the morning? Any advice would be greatly appreciated

If you have a bathroom downstairs, I would, if she felt comfortable about this, just have her sleep on the coach. If you need to carry her up/down the stairs, I think carrying her piggy back would be the best way to go (Just make sure you don't bump her bad ankle on anything).

Good question, James....as another poster already suggested, scooting on her butt and using her hands and good leg to help her up the stairs is probably the best bet. If at all possible, have her stay in a downstairs room or sleep on the couch. Good luck and hope your niece heals quickly!

You might want to set up someplace for her on the first floor.

Scotting on her butt, Plus it's easier if she has to go to the washroom, or get something.

See if she can "scoot" on her bottom. Or maybe you can make room for her downstairs until she heals.
