how come my pictures either look really pretty or really ugly?

I think it has to do with how you and others view the pics. That happens to me sometimes too. It's the whole beauty is in the eye of the beholder thing. Ive also taken pics that I thought where on the ugly side and others thought they where cute while I was like no these are hideous.

Take a look at all of your pictures-

1)the flash makes you look washed out, and can make oily skin more noticeable. Were your bad pictures taken with flash? to fix this, wipe your face with your sleeve right before you take the picture.

2) Were your bad pictures taken from below your shoulders? this could make you look larger. try letting the tall people take your picture- a picture from above is more flattering than below.

3) practice smiling in the mirror. sometimes when you smile, it might look fake or more like you are sneering.

4) wear black- it instantly slims you and makes you more attractive.

5) open your eyes! squinting makes you look older than you really are. :)

My guess is that when you are looking in the mirror the lighting is usually good plus u see your eyes aligned and looking at yourself. Cameras catch bad lighting, bad angles and bad poses. Figure out what is your best photographic angle and always pose with that angle or look. Most people don't like their profiles.

It's annoying huh? Just buy a more expensive camera..

I have to take like 20 pictures just to get like 3 good ones lol.

Cause not EVERY picture is going to be amazing also lighting and angles have to do with it alot. I get on cam and I look like sh!t but in person I look really good :D

I feel the same way if I was you used the good side.

the lighting will do a lot i.e low lighting will always make you look prettier!

Same maybe it's just your mood (you can tell if someone is not happy even if they aren't showing it) Idk it happens to me all the time
