Sore fingers from guitar?! PLEASE HELP!(:?
so Ive been practicing my guitar a lot lately (acoustic) and my fingers are super sore because i don't yet have full on callouses. I have to play in a few hours, and i was wondering what i can do to combat the pain? i cant play very well at all because it hurts when pressing down. I'm trying to push through but its really effecting my performance :/ so what should i do? ice? numbing creams? any advice would help :)
thanks so much!

Well you just have to get used to it. Once you play constantly it will slowly quit hurting. Im 15 and have been playing for 4 years and it still randomly hurts. If you play allot you will be fine but if like i play allot one day and not for like 3 days it hurts but if you just wear it in your strings will get softer. I dont have any callases and I play all the time

Rest! Also, you might try playing with thinner strings or practice on an electric guitar. The action is lower and the strings are thinner! Good Luck!! Keep practicing and it won't be an issue!!!

I heard some people like putting super glue on their finger tips to have a harder surface when playing. The super glue eventually falls off.

well... i say take a break untill then. try not to use them... numbing cream may help. never tried that. but the thing that works best for me is run them under hot and cold water while gently massaging them.

lay off the guitar for a few days but otherwise, and yes this is gonna sound stupid, but get some latex gloves and stick a piece of a cotton ball down each of the fingers! helped me tremendously!!!!
