How to write exponents on a mac?

I want to be able to type exponents in a text field any where on my computer(spotlight search, emails, blogs, etc) without changing the font or typing it in Microsoft word and copying it to the text field.

since i don't know which application you're trying to do this in, i'll just refer you to a short discussion thread where they may have your answer.

you should use an underscore ( _ ) in case you do not have the unicode for a subscript 3 that's 2083. once you're on a working laptop or laptop carry alt and form that type on the keypad then permit circulate of alt. once you're on a mac merely open up the character palette and seek for that type.
