What do you want to see in a 1950's teen romance novel?
Asked this question already, but closed the question by accident. Love to here more op pinions...
As simple as that. What kind of romance, what kind of heart, what kind of lose, and what Climax...
Many thanks. Let me know if any of you will want a free copy of the book when published. -Brianna(:<3
Ask for a copy of the book when finished, and I'll gladly email it to you (free, of course)
Get a life, MRS. U. I'm trying to appeal to what the public wants... and it's not desperation, it's generosity. I'm sorry if your that pitiful and empty, that you decide to answer a question with childish criticism and sarcasm. Life isn't a game, how's about you grow up, kay? Thanks. How about you work on your punctuation, aye? Sounds good. Give me a solid plot Idea, with no input from anyone else and see how many people buy it. I won't be one of them. Chill. P.S I'm 14, so maybe mess with someone your age, great... Yea.
OH! and bight me... Kay thanks(: Did I spell that right? Darn.
Alright... To end this unnecessary dispute, I meant no harm. I wanted no one to give me the plot, I was just curious as to what would be expected of a novel, because that is the purpose of this web site. I would appreciate it if we acted our age, and just let it go. If there is a problem with my ttechniqueand you feel the need to NOT answer, please don't. We all have our ways, and that's what makes us writers. Apologizes if my defence seemed childish," or anything else mentioned. That was not my intent. I was harmlessly asking a questions to those with an answer, not a condescending joke Thanks.

Elvis Presley and Chuck Berry blasting on the radio of a 1950’s Chevrolet. James Dean’s the sexiest man on the drive thru big screen and teenagers doing the twist, jitter bug and the lindy hop at a high school dance. What I’d love to see is a rebellious female character. Maybe she can be an illegal street racer, which became popular in the 1950’s. By day she’s this beautiful prissy, poodle skirt wearing girl and by night she’s a dangerous tight leather suit wearing vixen. However, no one knows her true identity because she wears a helmet. She’s like a legend around town only known as “Flash” and before she started racing her brother used to be “Flash”, but he died of cancer and he taught her how to race. I guess it’s like keeping his memory alive. Of course she meets a guy, he could be the good guy who doesn’t want her to race (he’s the only person she told) or the tough greaser type guy that wants to beat “Flash” by any means necessary (he finds out who “Flash” is). Naturally the greaser guy would be more interesting for he likes her but hates “Flash”. In those days girls wear suppose to be nice and decent. They were taught to be good wives and mothers. But she wants to be a car racer. Wow, I know you didn’t ask for a plot but it just came to mind. Not sure but you probably want something more meaningful and deep.
All I can think about are all the cliché stories. The guy who goes off to war and leaves his girl behind or the interracial couple trying to defy the odds. A teen mom, abortion or a teen girl doing something a boy would usually do would be a good start. Good Luck

I suppose I'd like to see romance and things relevant to the 50s. Obviously not a rip off of Grease or anything.
Also, Mrs U's criticism was warranted. When you write you don't concern yourself with "what the public wants" because that makes your writing empty and soulless. Do you think the public asked for Lolita? To write a successful story you need to come up with your own plot and own it. Also being able to use and spell words correctly is important. Getting defensive and childish because someone called you out on your faults doesn't make you seem cool or talented, it makes you seem like an infant and you are not going to be taken seriously.
You may be 14, but get over yourself.

I want a book that's realistic and written by an author who knows how to spell and use words correctly (*ahem*: hear, loss), doesn't offer free copies out of desperation to be noticed, and does their research.
Oh, an author who doesn't need others to tell them what to write in THEIR manuscript.
EDIT:
Oh, well aren't you just a wonderful ray of sunshine? Not. Sweetie, GET OVER YOURSELF. You're 14. Don't pretend to know about life like you're my age. Also, writing what the public wants is a surefire way to FAIL. But wait! You're so awesome and brilliant that you can't possibly fail, right? Right? *rolls eyes*
Your defensive little rant is making you far more immature and childish than my comment my dear. I strongly suggest YOU grow up.

References to a Nash Rambler, the Cisco Kid, Hoppalong Cassidy, the Korean War, President Eisenhour, the Senate Hearing on Unameriacn Activities. There's lots to write about in the fifties.

A kickass heroine who aspires to do greater than fall in love and be a well little housewife. Maybe paired with the candy-and-unassuming nerdy man. I do not particularly recognize approximately the whole thing else, however the climax must no longer awareness at the romance. Maybe the lady's household is combating chapter and approximately to lose their residence? (That's variety of cliched, however something.) I dunno.
